John's Story

I was determined to stay in San Diego---with a bunch of my Madison classmates---for college and graduated from SDSU in 1974. After, it was off to St. Mary's University law School in Texas, then a job opportunity landed me in Las Vegas in 1977 soon after I finished school. It turned out to be a phenomenal place to work and I have been there ever since. I spent 30 years employed by the City, County & State governments in Las Vegas. First as a felony prosecutor for the District Attorney's Office, then as Chief of the State Attorney General's Southern Nevada office and eventually as the Assistant City Attorney for the City of Las Vegas....Expand for more
All that work enabled me to retire when I was 56 years old. I am married to Felice, a lovely teacher and school principal who managed to retire at the same time. We have a cabin high in the mountains of Southern Utah, a couple hundred miles from Las Vegas, as well as a home on the beach in La Jolla. I get to hunt and trail ride often. Wish I spent more time fishing and diving, but have absolutely nothing to complain about. Life is good. I have not missed a Madison reunion yet and always enjoy the events. It really warms my heart when I get to see my old friends, some of whom I have been close to as far back as the first grade.
