John's Story
I'll start from Highschool, I moved to Metamora and went to Laurel High School sometime early October 82 and finished High School there. I joined the Indiana National Guard while still a Senior in High School.
After Graduation in 1986, I went to Basic Training, after completing training I went to work in Cincinnatti for a few months then joined the regular Army and got stationed at Fort Ord California HHC 4/17 Buffalo's. Spent two winters in Alaska. Participated in Operation Just Cause in Panama in December 1989. Went to Airborne School and was assigned to Delta Company 1/325th PIR and deployed too Operation Desert Shield/Storm in 1990-1991. Then went back too Fort Bragg, NC. n Koria, HHC 5/20 INF at Fort Lewis, went back to Fort Bragg and was assigned to Delta 1/505th at which time we deployed to Afghanistan for Operation Enduring Freedom. and also Division G-3 as the Force Protection/Anti-Terrorism Specialist. My last two assignments where at Fort Benning, GA with the Airborn School and then out on the Malone Complex on the Ranges. I also spent time in training in both Germany and Thailand. I retired from the Army in April 07. Since then, I have worked in Kuwait for 4 months doing private security then went back to Fayetteville, NC and did security work. In Oct 08 moved to Claremont, VA. where I do private secuirty. I have been married since June 1993 and have a daughter and a son.
