John's Story
After high school, I worked at the Gulf oil refinery in Moose Jaw, until it was shut down in 1971. By that time, I was married, and we moved to Fort St. John BC, and lived there for 11/2 years. Then I got my present job working at the Coop Refinery in Regina. I have been here 35 years. My wife and I raised our 3 children here, and now we are enjoying watching them prosper and live their lives. we have travelled extensively, throughout the states, Mexico, New Zealand, Hong Kong, Italy, England, Scotland, & Wales. Our youngest son lived in South Africa for 6 months. Our oldest son was a gymnast & was on Team Canada for 2 years, and is now coaching in BC. Our daughter has run marathons in Switzerland,...Expand for more
Hawaii, and is in training again for another in Florida, after a break to have children. Her husband & her own a share of the Fit Zone gym in Regina. He was in mountain bike racing, until recently. Our youngest son has recently gotten his scuba diving qualification. Life has been good to us, aside from 1992, when I ruptured a disc in my back. It slowed me down for a while, but I still do as much as I can. We shoot pool in a weekly 8 ball(Panther) league, but our teams best showing so far has been 2nd place in the city final tournament several years ago when we played in Molson League. In the summer, we boat & camp, and recently, we got a Mustang GT contvertible(I know - 2nd childhood), but its fun.
