John's Story

I had worked at General Electric in the Major Appliance Laboratory for 34 years before retiring in 1990. Most of my work was in research and development. I worked with all the manufacturing departments, but mostly with Range. I was involved in many novel developments in major appliances. I was awarded over 10 patents for my achievements. The company had undergone many changes while I was there, all for the worst. The Laboratory has been completely eliminated; and now the company is trying to sell off what is left of the Major Appliance Division. I am glad that I was able to retire before being fired. In my personal life, I have an arthritic...Expand for more
spine and spinal stenosis, which limits my mobility. So, I spend much of my time on the computer, which has an infinite amount of unlimited information. I use the computer to track my stock investments and my income and such things. We occasionally go out to dinner or to a play. I would like to contact old school friends. They can contact me at scoop218 at juno dot com. P.S. In my Q & A, I have tried to answer honestly, not necessary what is Politically Correct, or evaded the questions with such answers as "It depends on the issue" or some such, which is a copout. john
