John's Story
I came to St. Lawrence from NYC in my second year of high school in 1961... I remember being met at the airport by Father Steele and the Wade brothers. Students I remember are John Lamb and Jim Hamill ( guitar players), Steve Miller, Marc Berube (Kingston Trio fan), Larry Saville (day student), Walter O'Grady (brother of Father O'Grady). I remember outings to the nearby shopping mall to meet girls, to an ice-cream parlor we called the " Crystal Palace", playing duckpins on Saturdays, and riding on the toboggan at the Chateau Fronten...Expand for more
ac. I left St. Lawrence in the middle of 1962 (not voluntarily). Since then I have married and have two wonderful children. I became a teacher and then went to law school and practiced law in NYC for 25 years. My wife and I have been "retired" for some time and divide our time between NY and Hawaii (I remember seeing "Blue Hawaii" with a bunch of you and was fascinated by Hawaii ever since). We will be visiting Quebec in September (my first time back) and I hope to visit the school and perhaps some old haunts.
