John's Story
Life
I'm currently living in Columbus Ohio with my wife Mary. We've been married since Feb. 1997. I am currently working for a company called Teradata as a customer engineer, support person. Things are great and we have 2 handsome boys. I've served in the Navy, and now just work full-time and try to see the world when I get vacation time. I enjoy catching up with old friends via email or the phone, but you can't replace seeing someone in person.
I travel with work sometimes, and usually find my way into Mexico and Texas.
School
It was fun growing up with all those kids. The parties were great, and the girlfriends I did have were worth the while. I just wish I would have not tied down to one or two girls. Life would have been better as a player as a young guy instead of being the dedicated chum. There were a lot of memories that will never be forgotten and a lot of people who will always be remembered. The days of school were so easy and it was nice to not have a worry of paying bills or have responsiblities or real priorities.
College
College was a good experience and tought me plenty, now I just need to try to remembe...Expand for more
r most of it. I enjoyed meeting all kinds of people and graduating with honors while the cocky little guys didn't. I hope this degree takes me somewhere worth my time and effort. I wish I would have done it earlier in life, but I don't think was as dedicated then to accomplish such a task.
Workplace
Let's just say I'm glad to be in the engineering technical field using my hands and head. Food service and grunt work are for young and inexperienced people. I wouldn't trade the memories or experiences, but I definitely wouldn't do any of the old work again. If the engineering or technical gig doesn't pan out, I'll do real estate or home rehab work. I've developed a knack for fixing up old houses.
Military
The best experiences for a young man. I've seen the world, experienced more than 9 different cultures and met my wife in the Navy. Some of my best memories and friends have come from that experience.
If I could do it again, or if Uncle Sam came to ask me to serve again, I'd do it. I learned how to take life by the horns from military experiences. I am who I am because of the Navy, and I guess that makes me a better person.
