John's Story
Life
Started out at Valhalla (80-81) and moved to Grossmont, where I graduated in '84. A bit of time at SDSU, B.A. from UCSD, then started in on my two passions: writing and entertainment, which have both been big parts of my life. After college, I became a newspaper copy editor, then a newspaper reporter, working in Ohio, Oregon, Texas, Pennsylvania and Florida. Returned to California in 1992 for my master's degree at USC (1994).
Spent 1992 to 2001 at Disney, where I eventually became in charge of corporate communications for one of its divisions. After leaving in 2001, I continued working in publicity and corporate comm...Expand for more

I joined Lucasfilm Ltd. in 2003 and am currently director of entertainment publicity. I worked on the global premiere of "Revenge of the Sith" (Episode III) and am currently overseeing the publicity for "Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull"; the upcoming "Star Wars" animated TV series; and our new videogame, "The Force Unleashed."
The change from Southern California was enormous, and, after finally getting acclimated, I'm living in the Oakland hills with my partner of seven years and our two dogs. If you've read THIS far, please do drop me a line and say hello!
