John's Story
For anyone interested, this is my journey... I grew up in a middle class family right on the border of Pittsburg / Antioch, CA. My mother worked over 20 years for the U.S. Post Office while my father clocked in an eternity at the good old I.R.S., both are now retired. I have 2 older sisters who can't stand each other, one hounded my daily youthful existence while the other was off experimenting with drugs, all of whom I love very much. During these formative years I played a lot of sports, video games and watched a gang load of movies. Our family moved to Sacramento, CA for my Freshman year of High School. llege hours so I could dive into a Film Studies major. After many dollars spent and beer cans left behind I was forced to leave college prematurely to wander aimlessly through various office and construction jobs. I was lucky enough to find the love of my life during this bleak period, so I settled down and got married. I finally decided to pursue my second passion outside of filmmaking, architectural design. I'm now senior draftsman at an ADA consulting firm and loving life. I'll finish with a Bill Murray quote from the film Rushmore: "Take dead aim on the rich boys. Get them in the crosshairs and take them down. Just remember, they can buy anything but they can't buy backbone. Don't let them forget it. Thank you." I don't know how that relates here but I love it anyway.
