Going to ETI was a real struggle for me, as the highest math I had at that point was first year algebra, taken when I was in the 8th grade, 8 years prior. I found myself with a group of younger people, mostly fresh out of school and with a better education, some of whom already knew about slide rules, etc. Electronics is primarily math, and I had to really study to make it. glad I went.
I'm very thankful for my instructor, who had great patience with me, and for the classmate friends I made there. I really regret that I didn't keep in touch with them afterwards, and have thought about them many times. This is especially true of Ron, who was my best friend, and whom I disappointed when he asked me to be in his wedding.
While I haven't used the technology I learned there since 1970, I'm very glad to have gone, at to have the knowledge I gained. (And I still have my slide rule!)
