John's Story
I now live in East Jordan, MI. I've been a teacher since 1979. Taught biology and chemistry and several other science and math classes. I am semi-retired. Still teaching ... mostly substitute but have done some long-term jobs during the 2012-2013 year in Charlevoix and Gaylord.
I am also very involved in the Keryx Prison Ministry. A team of men enter a prison for a weekend and we put on a 3-day short course in Christianity ... known as a Keryx weekend. It is like an extreme spiritual make-over from the inside out. The inmates are highly impacted by attending the weekend. I am currently editing a book of daily devotionals and Bible studies for the graduates of the weekend. I am also one of several authors that write the articles that appear in the book.

Since graduating from BAHS, I have lived in Flint,MI, Spring Arbor, MI, Midland, MI, Manchester, CT, Taunton, MA, West Bridgewater, MA, Brockton, MA, and now I'm back in East Jordan, MI. (yes, I've moved 25 times in my life) I did my undergraduate degree at Spring Arbor University and my Master's degree from Saginaw Valley State University.
Was married to Cindy Myers while in college. She died of an asthma attack. Then I married Karen Keith in 1973. We had 2 children both adopted from Korea, Joel and Julianne (they live in MA). Karen died from breast cancer in 2000. I married Evelyn Gee in 2002. Ev and I grew up in East Jordan as children. So, we now live back in our home town of East Jordan. Ev has two children, Anthony and Rachel who live in South Bend. We currently have two grandsons, Marek and Kaige and a granddaughter Aria.
