John's Story
Life
After graduation from Wiley High School (Terre Haute, IN) in 1964, I joined the Marine Corps and was stationed in Vietnam for two tours of duty (1966 and 1967-1968). (Note: not a subject I readily discuss)
After service in USMC, moved to Sullivan, IN and worked for father at TILLSON CHEVROLET for a little over a year. Discovered that was not a good idea, so moved back to T. H. and got a job with ADT Security Systems. Was with ADT for approx. 15 1/2 years.
Moved to Orlando, FL, Dec. 1986 and started working at Sea World Adventure Park, Jan. 27, in the Security Dept. Transferred to Water Quality approx. 4 1/2 years later. after 21 years with the Sea World group of parks.. Have been married and divorced twice. Have one step-daughter, one daughter and one son. This has resulted in being the proud grandfather of two step-granddaughters, one step-grandson, one grandson and four granddaughters.
My step-daughter and daughter still live in T.H. and my son is a Ltjg in the Navy and is stationed in Jacksonville, FL. He is married and has three lovely girls.
My brother Bill, for those of you that a curious about him, was a Maryknoll Priest stationed in Bangladesh. While there he cotracted rabiis and passed on to a better life April 21, 1992.
My sister Dawn, lives just outside Brazil, IN and works at Union Hospital as a Hospice nurse. A calling that takes a very special person to fulfill.
