I have been blessed more than any one person deserves. Childhood ¿ Great memories, wonderful family, wonderful friends, and wonderful teachers. After high school, in July 1981 I married my high school sweetheart, Delores Spruill (BTW class of 1980). Two years later I finished college and left the best job I ever had at Food Fair/Pantry Pride and went to work for the government - civil service. In 1984 our son, John, was born. Two years later we had our little girl, Tracey. We lived in Norfolk until 1990 and then moved to Virginia Beach. In September 2006, while John was at seminary studying to be a preacher and Tracey at Longwood University studying to be a teacher ¿ the police came to my office in Norfolk and told me that Delores had been killed in a car accident on her way to work ¿ probably 45 minutes after I had kissed her goodbye.
