John's Story
Life
I was born in Drumright, Oklahoma. I attended Washington Grade School through the 6th grade. In 1951, my dad was transfered to Maysville, Oklahoma. I attended school at Maysville, graduating in 1957. While in school at Maysville I played football, basketball, and ran track. After graduation I joined the Air Force. I had base assignments in Lake Charles, La, and Albuquerque NM. On June 10th, 1962, I married Maynita Richardson of Wynnewood, Ok. Maynita and I have two daughters and four grandaughters and one grandson. d 35 years of service with Lucent. While employed with Lucent I traveled to China, South Korea, India, Indonesia, Europe, and Brazil. Maynita and I lived in OKC for a number of years before moving to Wynnewood where we wanted our children to attend school.I have previously served on Wynnewood's City Council and have served two terms as Mayor. I have served on two state agency boards, Oklahoma Municipal Power Authority {OMPA} and Southern Oklahoma Development Association {SODA}. I'm currently enjoying retirement, traveling, and working in my yard. I'm an OU football fan, having season tickets since 1970.
