John's Story
I graduated from Cedarbrae C.I. in 1965.
I worked many jobs of which I became a Civil Engineer Technologist;
Constable on the Toronto Police Force for 3 years;
Draftsman,Regional Assessment Office in the Civil Mapping Department (Cornwall & Guelph 1971-1980.
I've been married 3 times. I met my present wife Diane in Cornwall in 1975 and we married April Fools Day 1978.
I have 4 children, Amanda & Melissa from my second marriage; Chantale & Jon with Diane. I also have 2 grandchildren; Carter & Mercedes (mom, Chantale) and a grandson on the way July '09 (dad, Jon).
I've lived in Ottawa since 1980, receiving my B.F.A (Studio) at Ottawa...Expand for more
University. I'm self taught in Drawing & Oil Painting and have shown some of my works in Guelph, Toronto & Ottawa.
I have owned my own business now for 20 years (Stittsville Picture Framing & Studio Gallery (and now for the plug) ha!

My best friend, Bob Sandham, I have known since Grade 6 (George B. Little Public School)in Scarborough, Ont.
I was told by Mr. Lenard, my Architecture Drafting Teacher:
"John, you're going to look back at your school days as the best part of your life"
My response was: "No Way"
How wrong I was....School should be looked on "as the best part of your life"
