er (worked with helicopters). My mother was a computer. But we left Virginia when I was 2 years old; I don't remember it all. Dad took a job with Vertol (merged later with Boeing) in the Philadelphia area to work on helicopter design. He later went to work for GE on classified space stuff. We lived in the burbs. I was pretty sheltered. I occasionally went into the big bad city, but mostly stayed in the burbs. I left to go to college in WV and never came back. With a huge down-turn in the space program in the late 60's, my father was laid off and decided to not go back. As he pursued another career, my family moved around every couple of years, but eventually landed in the Boston area, which is where the largest part of my family still is.".
