John's Story
Greetings from the Heart of Illinois...
I hope all of you are doing well!!
I am living in Morton, Illinois with my wife of 24 years, Marge and our three daughters. Our oldest, Katie, is 19 and a Freshman at Illinois State University. She is a music education major, attending on a 4 year tuba scholarship of all things. Our middle daughter, Patti, is 16 and a junior at Morton High School. When we found out about Katie's tuba scholarship, Patti asked what that meant? We told her it means she can also go to college!! Our youngest daughter, Michelle, is 13 and in 8th grade at Blessed Sacrament School. She is at the awkward age, trying to be grownup with her sisters, but she is still a kid in many ways, playing video games and watching cartoon network with her neighborhood friends.
We moved my Mom down to Morton in 1996. She has been doing well in a retirement center until she had a heart attack in 2002. Since then, she can't take care of herself very well and has been living in a Catholic nursing home about 35 miles north of me in Lacon, Illinois. The nuns who run the place are from Eastern Europe and are just crazy e...Expand for more
nough that they happily dodle over all of the residents, as if somebody spiked the holy water. Some of the nuns speak Polish, which my mother really seams to enjoy. We try to visit her every other weekend and bring her over for family meals when we can. She really enojoys coming over and walking through my wife's garden.
I work at Caterpillar world headquarters in Peoria, Illinois. I currently lead a team 10 hot-shot Java Developers on projects for our dealers and their customers.
I can't believe I'm old enough to have teen-aged children. Life seems to go by faster every year, like a run-away frieght train!!!
My brother Chet is married with one daughter and is living in South Carolina. I'll try to get him to post info here.
Funny how I have all brothers, and all of my brothers who have children all have girls. Mom should have fed us more red meat!! Looks like the Zdanowski name will die off after this generation, and my future grandchildren will not have to live life at the end of the alphabet!!
Best wishes to all who read this. I'd love to hear from anybody who remembers little-old me!!
Kind Regards, John
