John's Story
Life
Hi all: was called LiL john in school. In 1961 I joind the USAF and went to Fla as a crash rescue firefighter. After Fla i went to jolly old England for 2 yrs. After I got out of the service I went to work for at Oxnard Airforce Base as Yes a firefighter. I got married in Aug 1969 and in Dec same yr. we moved to southern Arizona to work for the US Army cause they closed Oxnard AFB. I spent 26 yrs as a civil servent (firefighter) and 4 yrs with the USAF for a grand tot...Expand for more
al of 30 yrs as a firefighter. I retired as Fire Chief of the fire dept. at Fort Huachuca, Az. Located in Cochise county southeastern part of Arizona, 19 miles from Tomestone (the town to tough to die). I spent 12 yrs in front office as Ass't Fire Chief and 5 yrs as Fire Chief. Now as a retired Fire Chief I like to go Camping, Fishing (in lakes and the Gulf of Calif and the Gulf of Mexico). Hope to see you all on the next reunion.
