Joi's Story
Life
I live in the Washington D.C. area. I met my husband through my old college roommate. He is a special educator who teaches algebra and geometry to children with emotional disabilities. We have three children (1 boy and 2 girls), two cats, and one dog.
I work part-time as a telecommunications attorney. Outside of my current position, I have given presentations on topics related to corporate and employment law and topics related to special educatio...Expand for more
n and the use of augmentative communication devices. I became interested in special education after our older daughter was diagnosed with cerebral palsy.
In my spare time, I volunteer at my childrenÂs schools and act as a Âmom taxi ferrying my kids to their numerous activities. At least bi-monthly, I meet with a few friends for ÂGirls Day at a local spa or restaurant.
As a family, we enjoy going to church, traveling, and visiting museums.
