Update- Dec. 30 '15:
Hey let's hope for a Hauoli Makahiki Hou! I got back from the Mainland this time Dec 11th...and nursing frostbitten fingers and R-Big n index toes. How? I was stupid:r didn't use gloves on departure day from ANC to SEA what I figured on taking an hour buttoning the trailer in storage with Jag and stuff, took 4.5 hours working in 19F and 4" snow. Knew I had frostbite, but didn't think was that bad until I landed and over weekend blisters formed and parts turned from gray to black...NS!! Anyway with month treatment in SEA, Doc gave the OK when X-Rays showed no sign of damage to bones that I could fly home and deal with what might have to cut-off. Happy to say I was able to take off dead tissue and nails as needed; fingers look kina gross, but hopefully will regenerate over time. Any way about my kids. Noa has been working as 'Graphic Designer' for nearly 8 yrs and just recently started as PT Instructor at the Art Institute of Seattle. BTW: if you'll check the credits in 'Destiny' and 'League of Legions' you see him listed. Kanoe is now a coordinator in reservations at Westin Hotel. None of my contest submissions made it to final cut...Kids tell me to take a break for year to get health in order..now that I got rid of house (ANC) I can get hip fixed, wound healed, teeth fixed and get a place to live a life so I can help kids put a house on Hawn' Homes Land in Kamuela. Can't help myself...pretty much in rage about NextERA taking over HECO. Actually supposed to arrange meeting with Gov. Ige when I got back, (since I missed meeting him while I was in Honolulu recovering from surgery)..No BS! Have plan for how the State of Hawai'i and residents can form mutual Co-Op to buyout HECO, go totally 'green power' in 3 yrs and reestablish Hawai'i as 'Hub of Transpacific Trade' in 5 yrs. ..also establish a State Dividend Fund like in Alaska, but better...to become Recession Proof and Economically Sovereign. Well that's the plan to pitch, if when, I do. Well looks like this might be the last update on Classmate with all previous years. I'm going to save all this in archive and hopefully will have website built to leave as page for 'Legacy'.
Update-- May 22, 2015:
Well I'm off to Honolulu May 25th to prepped for surgery 28th. Plan on staying at the Y on Atkinson a til July 21st. would hope to find room to share or Apt for short term and cost savings. Then I'm off to Mainland till Nov or Dec pending how things turn out with submission to Renewable Energy World Conf & Expo in Vegas come Dec and result of Buckminister Fuller Challenge in Aug to decide on taking a Plane to Boston, for Bus to Providence, RI and then to DC. Then again, I hope maybe to strike a deal for some properties on Oahu. Recovery will tell. Will try to keep updates better. a hui hou-- Hey, if anybody like meet for coffee or plate lunch and talk story plz no hesitate to call-- 345-1119 -- Man!? to bad Ige's closed, I really wanted chance to stop in...apparently there's a prospect just up the road from them.

Didn't make the cut for 2nd round of 43North. Still haven't had success in getting anywhere to fund developing my Clean Energy Systems, Projects, and transports...though still trying, it's just getting old, rather I'm getting too old. My truck has been inoperable since Nov. '13. been biking in 'n' out of town. Had intended to start trip to AK, in May '14, but was thwarted because everybody had to move out of the storage yard I was staying at, by July 1st. Things not quite set up yet, but at least there is power & water at new site. Like stated spent Aug - Nov '14 literally camped in my driveway of house in Anchorage since it's in Abatement-- no entry, no occupancy. >>Other than to go in a try clean it up. Had a booth at the Renewable Energy Fair 2nd weekend of Aug. talked to a number of people, was humbling when Senator Begich happened by and stopped in to chat. Yeah, he and I go back a long way. Anyway, it was good thing that I did the event, as that booth was my home for the summer. I did OK, after I got stitches out of my hand 3rd week of Aug. and rain stopped end of Sept. I got yard cleaned. Had high hopes with amount scrap metal loaded on one of my trailers to take to recycling center by my BDay in Oct. thought I'd have cash to buy a nice bottle wine, or even a Cognac, for after grinds at some buffet...but, my luck!!!:( After church, I go to buy the trailer taillights and get home to find the trailer was stolen!! Every bit of metal I had left to load gone! The thieves came back with their own trailer (after they dropped off my trailer at their place..where ever) to take what was in the house I wanted to ship back here (Kona) to develop my transport.gone!!. My friend's tools I borrowed, shave ice machine, a huge aluminum lure and even the roll of Duct Tape. Neighbor across the street even chatted with the thieves to ask what they were up to. When that neighbor didn't understand what the guys were yakking about... Landlord this, Landlord that!!--- the dummy went back across the street and watched...didn't think about getting the lic #. Any way, due to what was taken, and how quickly it was done--I know it was the kid who helped me weed whack the yard the weekend I arrived. All that was left was a derelict car and bed of my lunchwagon (the squatters I had evicted stripped down). I go back to WalMart to return the trailer lights to buy jack to finish loading the derelict, and find after I bought those taillights, my credit card was frozen because of a Security breach Home Depot:( though I worked things out with Bank to temporarily reactivate the card...I scratched idea about removing the derelict, because I didn't want to clear backyard to take my '74 Jag. So, that was it... what cash I had was enough to buy nice bottle of Dark Beer and go roller skating, even with slightly dislocated hip and frostbitten toes. Flew to Seattle the last week in Oct to make Halloween dinner for kids, stayed with my son the entire time, because daughter was moving house (again). Get scolded by Son about trying to keep house in AK, he wants me to be rid of it so I can live in decent place before I die; as he said he'll be able to get loan to put house on their 5 ac in Pu'ukapu (Hawn Homes) provided I can be released from 1500/mo mortgage. Got back home here 2nd week of Nov. so still need to work on my accommodations. Just got things going for my wound and hip in next 2 weeks. Have entries to file...hopeful yet to get somewhere with those...ideally, would like to have response from business propositions to tie in with exhibits should I get award from one or more of the contests. Will hear results from entries starting April. Regardless of outcome (of entries), plan is to head up to Anchorage May or June.as insurance just agreed to replace heating system. I hope to take parts from '91 Jag. here to get Jag in AK running so I can drive it to Seattle this time around, then ship it here. Will see>>only God knows, or rather, if God Willing.
OH, BTW--if anybody reads this and knows classmate in Maui, I'd appreciate getting in touch with them to see if can stay a few nights so I can go try out their rollerskate rink,>>>of course, that's if I don't go Maui before May '15.
Update July 15, 2014:
Well I had check Classmates site to see in few months before our 40yr Reunion to see if there's going to be a. As much as I'd like to go it's timing and money. I had planned of spending most of the summer cleaning up my house in Anchorage since it got thrashed by tenants Nov '11 - Nov 13. I intended to stop up there (Anchorage) after World Clean Energy Summit in Santa Clara, CA I had won opportunity for bulletin presentation, and a exhibitor's booth in June '12, but had no investor. Did what I could the get to AK in Aug. '13 to work things out with the tenants so I could get some rent money...last amount was 700 in Dec '12 which all total for 2 yrs they stayed was just shy of 2500. The couple & 4 kids were getting their Dividend checks (apprx 1200) in Oct. so I figured to give them 30 day notice to vacate premise by end of Sept. so I could clean up house by mid Oct to spend my birthday with my kids and wife's BDay on 31th. I was studying to pass MOUS Excel to finally get my Associates Degree from Charter College cause it was all the money I had after costs of renting truck I slept in, fuel, ticket to Seattle, a new laptop, and food. Good thing I got use to fasting in Sept having only bread & water. ...but, don't think I fasted right, because had a #lb of bread/day refilled>>>was only 1.08 for bread!! and No Tax. Anyway, I had to evict tenants thru Court cause Child Services, Police or City Code Enforcers couldn't help me; even when the Water was cut off since Dec. '12 because of non-payment. Yeah, unreal you should see the pics>>>they were using 5 gal buckets for toilet. The guy never fixed the roof or sheet rock he said would, tore out my living room carpet, threw what personal stuff>>>out in the yard. They stole my hot water baseboard heating system and the boiler for the copper. He caused all kine hassle to neighbors, vicious dog attacking people, drugs, partying, ATV up & down street. Why I trusted him<you ask? His father lives up Kaloko Mauka, Mother married gentleman just down street from my Mother-in-law in Keaukaha, his Granma and Uncle had pastry shop in Pepeekeo, that uncle even ran for Mayor Hilo. , since I had tried working with them, and I was a Ret. Firefighter...I had to board up the house. Planned on getting up there in (past) May to possibly have good summer working on getting house fixed and/or sold, and then go fishing a couple months. However, my luck was everybody in the storage yard (where I spend most nights), had to vacate by July 1st, so now I hustled to get things squared away in new storage yard which is great because it has power & water. I don't have to go shower at Old A's or recharge computer at McD's or Starbucks anymore. Am awaiting answer, today, if I made it into 2nd round of Business Plan competition sponsored by 43North which is part of the "Start Up New York" campaign. Being that winners would need operate business first year in Buffalo---I called my father in Naples, NY to wish him happy belated BDay, Happy Father's Day and see if I could visit and possibly stay there at his cabin for a year. But, I missed him by month & half as I found out on Father's Day he past away May 8th (4 days after his birthday). My only regret is that he died hating me, because he told everybody that I was the son who threw him out into the street in front of Pete's Place; in front of House and gave him lip at my mother's grave site...when it was his cherish son, my younger (only) brother that did all that. I'm sure all his classmates know since I'm sure he bragged about it. I knew that he did it, but I didn't know that my father thought it was me until my brother told me at my wife's funeral. Well, got ticket for Anchorage leaving July 30th will stay there till end of Sept maybe mid Oct.>>to spend my BDay with Kids>>>then plan to take train from Seattle to Buffalo on 22nd if I make the final for competition. Then should I win any prize money; I'll get back to Big Island to finish up whatever and prepare to relocate to Buffalo Jan 2015 to incubate business for year. If I don't, well I'll come finish up what I can here at home, see about moving onto Kids' 5ac parcel in Pu'ukapu, Waimea (Hawn Homes) and try to reopen business operations---that's provided the guys in new storage yard don't get kicked out because of my staying nights in Bus I'm working on to make into self-sustained, self-contained Motorhome (highly possible to be an Amphibious Transport) that uses no fuel, has no discharge of Sewage or Wastewater. Of course, if I have hard time doing that and if (when) I'm totally healed I'll get a job with some company. God knows!?!
Update Feb. 12, 2013:
So another year begins. Of course, struggling alone missing wife, miss my kids. Await injury to close up in couple months so I can finally go swimming, intend breaking out my windsurfboard for surf. Then too, trying to get couple things put together for exhibit if I make; the cut for booth in the National Innovation Summit, in DC come May. Will see how it goes.

It's been a while since last update, at the time business started booming, and efforts were focusing on proposals to secure property to develop facility to apply concept energy systems to expand operations, as well as services so I hadn't had time to work on profile.
As it was, as I started jotting things down to bring this profile current since I had to shut down the Shave Ice stand Jan '11, and am still nursing an injury since Feb. '11...was depressing to list all the mishap, and misfortune. Best things that happened was my daughter putting me up at her apt for month Nov '11...or rather putting up with me:) I made proposal to get funds to help restore the "Kalakala" in Tacoma, Sept - Oct '11. by designing a few EcoSystems for it. I got fished in when the owner said he was interested in approach, but nothing came of it after I got there, so since I wasn't getting paid for work I was was doing for him, she and her boyfriend said to stay with them until I could afford ticket to fly home. Then they came to visit me Feb '12 because she had to use pass she got to go to her family reunion that got postponed to July 13th- 15th.
I just got back from Seattle after my son put me up for a few days, after the TechConnect World Summit, in Santa Clara, CA.>>>even bought me ticket home, since I was flat broke. So now, I need to get things prepped for his coming in for the Ioane (Kanakaole) Family Reunion in couple weeks.
Then I got to get a presentation together for Asia-Pacific Clean Energy Summit in Honolulu, in August.

Alaska code enforcement have been in touch with me, since been back home, Feb 09, am on Big Island, in Kona mostly, but...like scripture from her Bible said -- a man with no wife is homeless wanderer. So I am, well I'm not homeless, for I am home--just houseless.
It hurts being here, as all that I see everywhere I go, brings tears of longing for her.. I'm back to where I was when she first took me under wing, so strange the other night I tried to call Audene-- I mean actually looked for her ph# and wondered where it was?! Then it hit me...rather, it STABBED me, again! Why. Lord??
Been in Kona since Feb. 23,'09 opened Hawaiian Kine shave ice booth in front of Huggo's on the Rocks. Trying to find permanent place for operations-- as lease for booth did ends Nov 30 '09, they who were to restart Dec. 1 09, didn't return--so now I have renegotiated for 5 year lease "month to month clause" so what that means is I should have another year so long as I don't get the landlord PO's at me.
Still yet houseless, least now in my own truck shipped here from Alaska.
Sorry, still haven't emailed or contacted they who signed guestbook but, just been hard trying to get things off the ground, am doing whatever I can-- or at least whatever God willng to let me do-- for too, as I try to get this updated, I must stop to serve customers, and tend to lose train of texting. unless it's time like now early 1am - 3am between my closing and Java on the Rocks opening.
Sorry, missed going to 35th reunion, but as was and is>> there are days that it's just too hard or hurtful to do anything like starting from month of her birthday (10/31) until anniversary day 5/10 (or Mother's Day) --(9/30/08)when an Aunty came by my place of business, who reminded me that I was member at this site,..my regrets and apologies I must offer as I only realized after fact that of having considered all listed previous visitors did read it, and only, then dread more of whom unlisted visits by anonymous.
I moved to Alaska in July 17, 1980 with beautiful wife Audene Noelani (Kapuni) Barlow I married May 10th '80, with joy for life to have together we managed to sustain living in this cold, harsh land had 2 great kids Noakaleiali'i May 2,85 and Kanoelanikaleialohaohawai'i Jan 18,89. With her by my side I pressed on with whatever to do for work. To say with everything to toil in life that need to do now, and what I had done in pursuits to make money for living, I face fact that thee most cherished treasure I had...the girl I love and married is gone.
Audene passed away due to cancer, July 28, 08, and in remorse I will forever blame myself, I can not retract ill words previously stated. Stupid am I or rather no words can say what okole I am, would not even be high on list of designations. There is no way to express how shamefully sorry for that as would be deemed as disrespect, not only to God's finest woman who has done so much and touched the lives of so many, but too, to our kids, her family and friends.

There will always be void in my life as no one can compare. Due day I die, my endeavors have and will always be on account of Audene; and by God's will, objectives I seek to accomplish is merely for redemption in hopes to be worthy to be with her again. When my life's story be told, the best it could have ever been is done.
Son grad from Seattle Art Institute 6/07. lives in Seattle and Daughter grad 6/07 from West High, she's moving to Seattle 10/06/08.
Went Charter College 2000-2003 for AAS Comp.Sci: Technical Graphic (CAD) for my clean energy R&D; was going for BS in ITE to build a cyberlab (mo'a safe for me), but didn't have enuff Student Loan to finish, but just as well, as ITE stuff is for how-to set up LAN/WAN which doesn't help me. Just need to pass MOUS Excel for AAS Comp. Sci.
Opened Hale o na Pua 9/84 trying to bring Hawai'i here for Audene, and write off trips to Hawai'i, but since she got job with Hawaiian Airlines and Cathay Pacific Airlines as Station Manager I closed the store 2/90, then was doing Shave Ice at Saturday Market every summer 92-99, but when assessment found I earned more selling shave ice, than 2 day wage as Firefighter I took early option to retire from Fire Dept. 2/98, was setting shave ice stand someplace since 2000 speculating to develop Luau Facility so Audene would have place to teach hula. Got shave ice rig running summer since '04 in parking lot of speculate building to develop Luau Garden. I apply myself to do all I will do, my Hawaiian Kine (food & bev. mainly Shave Ice), and Power Alternative (scientific R&D) developing proprietary Clean Energy systems I perceive will be of benefit for the future...for our children's children
