Life It is now July 2009 and we are hoping for a little rest these remaining summer months. The family has already been to Washington DC, King's Island (Cinci), and Orlando this summer. Joanna & I made a quick trip to Vegas to celebrate her birthday and the end of her semester and finals. Not much has changed with family other than we are a few years older. Jas still heavily invested in competitive cheer and both boys are in summer football conditioning. Jalen is also playing travel basketball which will overlap football and take up some of his summer. After his team won the in-house league this past spring, he decided to try-out for the travel team to continue to improve his skills. With all the activities, it seems we are driving kids somewhere every day. I'm not sure if we'll be better or worse off when Jerrod and Jas get their licenses in a couple years. Work continues to be busy even with the economy issues so I tend to be lax in keeping this updated. Joanna has much more time invested in fbook and is on that site at least once daily during the summer. If you want more timely updates, I'd suggest contacting her friends list on that site and asking her to add you. Her updates will get less frequent when here semester starts this fall. One change is that I have been trying to continue my running after the yearly mini-marathon. Obviously much bigger than in high school but I've ran it four years in a row but always stop running and just begin a few weeks before the race. It it a little painful running 13 miles after only a few weeks of training so I am trying to actually stay in moderate shape this year. I fell off the wagon a little in Orlando as it was really busy and I didn't run in over a week but got back to it this week. It is Dec.2007 and we are looking forward to spending Christmas in Orlando after a very hectic fall. Joanna is just about to take finals and all three kids are deep into their activities. Jasmine is still in gymnastics and participated in a pageant and fashion show this fall. She also seems to be the most active socially. Both boys finished a great fall of football with Jalen scoring nearly at will in his flag league and Jerrod played every down on his tackle team that won the league championship. Jerrod made the all-star team after league play was over. You can view some of his pictures at the sidelineposters website and he was on the Steelers. They caught one of his touchdowns on camera. Now basketball has started for both boys so we will be busy with that until February. Jerrod scored six points and had three steals this past weekend and Jalen had 14 points, 8 rebounds, and 5 steals, both in winning efforts. Jerrod and I had planned on staying to watch Illini football in Orlando as we purchased Capital One bowl tickets about 2 months ago but they somehow made the leap to the Rose Bowl. We are still trying to figure out if we can get out to California to watch them live in Pasadena. This past November, I spent a week at a conference in Ch...Expand for more
