Jonathan's Story
Life
Aw let 'er eat. Northside, I spent some of the best times of my life there amongst my friends, what a witty bunch we were. I think this site would be better if they didn't make you pay for the ability to do some of this stuff, unless they changed the standards I don't think you can even read bios without buying a membership.
Anyways, I must say that our times at NMA weren't all that bad, sure *some* people thought it sucked while we were there, but I can't say that in the least, just the fact that we're here right now is proof positive. From teacher(s) that would never give you higher than a 99, to Homecomings, to some of the...ahem, things swept under the rug, things that I don't want to mention like Jere and his closet caper, and then there's Dubose, and--oops I just did.
On a lighter note, the years of sports and academia, the Shakespear Festival and other field trips, ...Expand for more
just being a part of the whole highschool bunch through the late 90's was incredible, but my senior year was the best.
It's too bad that the other years didn't get to see the class of '01 brought to fruition. After my 10th grade year our class got cut almost in half, from 60 to 30. In a Biblical sense it was almost like separating the wheat from the tares, almost. Those of us who remained, like a fine wine, only got better with age.
Being one of the lifers at Northside, along with a handful of others upon graduation I must say that having gone to the same school my whole life was a good thing, some would say no, that going to a bigger or public highschool was better because of supposed "opportunity", to that I reply "You're in Dothan, Alabama, 'opportunity' doesn't get much better.".......(and the crowd goes silent).
