Jonathan's Story
Life
My childhood home was near Universal City. When not playing at being an Indian in a cave in the Hollywood hills, I'd sneak into the studios and watch movies being made. There was also a big wild area called the wash nearby that was good for all sorts of adventures.
Attended Hollywood Professional School, Colin McEwen Professional School, and graduated from Hollywood High.
After a very brief try at a life in rock music, I went back to school and ended up teaching psychology. The big moment of my academic life was to work with mythologist Joseph Campbell and then become curator of his archives.

and now live in an old house in Santa Barbara, California with several wise cats. Get out dancing when life permits.

Workplace
Had a psychology practice while teaching in various graduate programs. Since 1995, I have been traveling giving seminars on the psychology of mythic tales and the ideas of Joseph Campbell. Telling stories and looking at how they reveal the inner life is incredibly rewarding. Can't imagine ever retiring.
