Jonnie McAmis's Story

Life has almost come full circle. I started life in Texas -- born in Fort Worth; moved to Arlington in time to start high school -- and sometime later in 2012 I will be returning to Texas. I also started early on as a journalist and wrote for the Citizen-Journal all through high school and for many years after. But I decided I would starve to death as a journalist so I got a BBA in Accounting and became a business exec instead. aster's -- an MFA in Fiction -- and now I write full time. I have two books at varying stages of revision, including a book inspired by my time spend on my uncle's quarter horse ranch in Hempstead, Texas. I write a literary weblog that is meant for other readers of good fiction and keeps me connected to the world of literature. Friends can find the blog on the web at jonniemartin.com. One of the special benefits of returning to Texas will be the opportunity to see family and friends. My Dad is still there (at age 92); one of my brothers; 2/3 of my sons; all of my grandchildren and great grandchildren (two with a third on the way). My third son lives in California, but that's why God made airplanes!
