Jorge's Story

Life Military career. Married. Own a home. Even have a dog that I didn't want. Still, I feel like I'm living someone else's life. Like I should still be searching for the path that leads me to a different place in life. Like I should be trying a suit that fits me better. My spare time is spent with my friends from High School, who amazingly are all still within two counties of where I live. When we're not playing Halo on the Xbox, we're rediscovering the games of our youth. Or watching the latest genre movies. School Being a military brat, I never got to spend a full 4 years at any high school. Still, I would have to say I was more active at Springstead High, Spring Hill. Had girlfriends, wrestling, computer club, Rocky Horror, and met friends whom I still meet with today. College Commuted during my entire college career. All 12 years worth of college. e to school full time and graduated much earlier. Workplace Lesson 1: If you're going to work for a construction company, learn how to hammer a nail in a 2x4. Lasted one day. Lesson 2: When vacuuming toner from a copier cartridge, make sure the shopvac has a bag in it. After a 1/2 hour of vaccuming, toner was all over the office all over my clothes. Last two months. Lesson 3: Don't work in the fast food business for more than a year. Two years tops. After 8 years at Little Caesars with only $6/hour to show for my efforts, I should have baked my head in the oven. Taking advantage of my new EMT skills from the Air Force, I worked at St Joseph's Hospital Pediatric E.R. for a couple of years, then moved to the Employee Health department. After graduating from USF, I took my new degree and worked at Raymond James for a short time before embarking on a full time military career. Today, I provide I.T. support to my Air Force Reserve squadron as well as the unified commands (USSOCOM, USCENTCOM) at MacDill AFB, Tampa, Florida.
