Life
Hi all! I was pleased to see a lot of familiar names on the clas of '76 list. Haven't been to a reunion since the 10th, and when I'm in Des Moines I'm spending time with my parents and sibs.
Since graduation....well I went to UNI and got a degree in elementary education. Got a job in a suburb of the Twin Cities, and I've been in the same school district ever since. I've mostly taught third grade, but I also taught 4th and 1st. Right now I'm teaching 5th grade. Surprisingly enough, I like that age. Old enough to think somewhat independently, yet not overcome by hormones and the woes of adolescence. I got a Master of Arts degree in 1998 in Educational Administration. In 2...Expand for more
000, I got my license to be a school administrator. Right now, I'm working on a doctorate in Educational Leadership. So work and school keep me busy. My big decision is whether to try for a principal job, which is very competitive in the area, or start hacking away at a dissertation. I know....I know....not much of a dilemma in light of recent times. Well, for fun....I've biked from Minneapolis to Chicago twice for a fundraiser, and to prove that when I hit 40, life wasn't over! I workout to avoid middle age paunch, and have most of my hair with just a few strands of gray. Other than that, you'd probably recognize me It would be a kick to hear from other Saydel grads.
