Joseph's Story
Life
After,i graduated in 1973, i went to work for General Motors.In 1974
got laid off and went to Florida
party with some good friends.Went
back to work in 1976 at General Motors.I got involved in labor issues with the union local664.My
dad before his death in 1966 was a
union rep.It was amazing what a difference, he made in his union members life.I started on the assembly line with Pat cioffi and my brother Ronnie.Its rough when these supervisors are on you all day.I studied labor issues health and safety laws and after 8 hard years of studies the blessing came.I was appointed to the health and safety staff as a inter-national health and safety rep for
the UNITED AUTOMOBILE WORKERS OF AMERICA.I worked in Tarrytown NY.,
for 20years.I lobbied in Washington DC,for the UAW and the
OSHA office.I tried to lobbie votes for a Ergonomics standard,
but lost the vote in congress by a slim margin.We lost our plant in Tarrytown due to down sizing in 1996.I got married in...Expand for more
1996 at my 1000 acre ranch outside of Albany NY.Then I was offered a job at a
Plant in Atlanta GA.I still hold
the same position.I have 2 lovely
boys 5 and 6.I would like to take this time to thank all the beautiful people who made a difference in my life.From our class trip, to the nice store owner in the catskills, who deliver our beer wine and met me in the woods for the delivery.To all of our friends at
the spot on overlook ave.And to the
partys we had at the river.We should not forget Genevas bar,
Sorrentos, Dutches, the fronz,
wolfman, hootman, Johnny Ritz,
Marathon, Siles,Dannys Irish Hse.
We should never forget the people,
less fortunate than us.Always
remember your family and friends.
Take time for you and your family,
life only, moves as fast as you allow it.And to my classmates, always hold your heads high and your heart open.
