Joseph's Story
Life
After graduation, I enlisted in the Navy and served aboard the USS Bordelon DD881 as a radarman we served in the Mid.East,where I ran into Steve Healey, while there we were designated recovery ship for Appollo 13 for the Indian Ocean. Then around South America through the Panama Canal and the straights of Magellen, and Viet Nam. I married a girl from the Royaleers Drum & Bugle Corps Chris Bakley. Had a son while in the service. After I got out I got a job on the railroad as an engineer. We had a daughter and raised both kids in Magnolia. are 14 years apart. Our daughter is a teacher in Vineland after attending Rowen Univ.. I am now retired. I am a born again Christian, attending church at a local Baptist church. It was said in our year book that I live for the Vagabonds, must not have been far off, we now have started the Alumni Drum Corps the Vagabonds, and meet in Magnolia. It's for people of all ages, and is for the fun of it. Catch us online sjvagabonds.org We will be doing standstill shows and some parades. So come on out and join us contact me through classmates. We practice the 2nd and 4th Sat. of each month at the Magnolia Borough Hall, at 12 noon.
