Joseph's Story
It took me a long time to decide what I wanted to do as far as a career was concerned. Trained in accounting I ultimately did management consulting and then was C.E.O. for a number of years, first for another entrepeneur and then for my own company from which I retired.
As far as an avocation, until I began to have health issues I was a licensed private pilot and enjoyed taking trips to different parts of the country with friends or my Grandson (wife did not like flying in a small plane).
Although I "officially" retired in 1998 I did not actually retire from being actively involved with my church, choir, Trustees, etc., and also in the adult community where I lived in Brick. I was the President of our community association and also managed the association as we did not have a paid manager. I finally actually retired upon our move to Vero Beach in June of 2010.

dren and grandchildren, and my nieces and their families and children. We see them often on either our trips back to NJ or their trips to visit us here in FL.
Update: 8/2011 About a year ago we moved permanently to Vero Beach, FL. As much to get away from the hectic pace I'd been maintaining at our association and at church as to get away from the cold (and lately) snowy winters. Vero Beach is a nice, laid back area of Florida in the heart of the citrus growing region on the east coast.
Update: 11/2014 My wife and I moved to Manchester, NJ just before Thanksgiving where I was the executor of the estate of a very dear friend and former secretary. On June 1, of this year, we moved back into our condo in Brick. Our move back to NJ was as a result of missing our children and grandchildren so much. In addition, in mid-May our Grandson and his wife had their first child (our first Great Grandchild).
