Life After graduation, I went to the Naval Academy, graduating in 1985 with a degree in Aerospace Engineering. I then spent six months doing a little engineering and having a lot of fun at Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Lab (within easy striking distance of Georgetown bars) before going to Pensacola for Naval Flight Officer training. Following that, I went to Va Beach for four glorious years flying in the A6 Intruder medium attack aircraft. I then spent two tough years in Monterey, California, getting my master's degree while getting paid as a Naval Officer. I met my wife, Robin, there. She mistakenly came to one of our house "Olympic Festivals" with a coworker and gave me her phone number in a fit of pity. We eloped to Alaska and were married on a mountain south of Anchorage. The Navy repaid me for my two years in Paradise by sending me to Panama to work at Southern Command, where I froze my ass off on twelve hour shifts in an underground command center.
