Joseph's Story
Hi everyone that i knew at Carver High and Harris County. i live in McDonough,Ga .I retired in 2013 in Savannah,Ga .with Department of Homeland Security in The U.S.Customs & Border Protection Agency for 32 and half years. However,i worked prior to the new Department of Homeland Security created. i worker 22 years with U.S .Dept.Of Agriculture in Houston,Texas and Savannah,Ga at the Ports. and i did my last 10 years with U.S .Customs & Border Protection In Savannah,Ga. and I threw my self a Dynamite Farewell Party with 150 people attending nation wide .relatives,friends,former Houston co workers,Atlanta friends,Maryland relatives,Augusta,Columbus,Charleston,Macon and Washington,D.C. area and local co workers and 8 Supervisors. A Night to remember.April 27,2013. Then within a month, i left Savannah,Ga .after 27 years and moved back to Metro Atlanta area. i have did my share of traveling California three times in 1989,1990,1992, Holland in 1983,Mexico,Montreal.Vancouver,Toronto,Niagra Falls,Minn.Washington,D.C. Maryland,Chicago, Denver,Colorado,Houston,Texas for 6 years,Austin,San Antonio,Galveston,Corpus Christi,Texas,New Orleans to Essence Festival in 2003,Hampton Jazz Festival ,Knoxville,Tenn.Nashville,Little Rock,Ark.St.Louis,Mo. cinnatti,Ohio,Miami,Fla. Tampa, and Orlando and a Cruise to Islands. Well after doing all that traveling over the years while working and most were job related with the government, im still traveling state and nation wide on my own. People ask me what do you do since retirement . well.life after working 32 Years. i usher at my Church in McDonough,Ga.i visited and attend my Dad and step Mom in Decatur for Doctor appointments,yard work,getting groceries, work out at the gym 3 days a week.i do twice a week volunteer service at Senior Citizens Center delivering meals to 15 families on Tuesday.and Thursday. i do volunteer work at Piedmont Henry county Hospital only on Mondays. i bicycle once a week.i bowl twice a month on Sat.and Mondays. i go the the Public library twice a week to work on a research project tracing family names and ancestry.and i have a telescope for Astronomy to look at he moon,planets and stars to relax the min. i have 2 grown sons and I grandson born Aug,7,2013. Sisters are living in Maryland and a brother and his wife in Stockbridge. My dad 88 years old and Stepmom lives in Soutjh part of Dekalb County .my son and his wife ,grandson live in Lawrenceville,Ga.and my other son lives in Savannah,Ga Area
