Joseph N.'s Story
Life
Left for the army in 1984 and returned to LI in 1988. Spent most of 1988-1992 wreck diving (SCUBA) diving off the South Shore of LI (anyone remember Divers Way?). Ended up working on some dive boats as a Rescue Diver and Dive Master.
Accepted a position with the Department of Justice, US Border Patrol in 1992 (now consolidated into Department of Homeland Security) and have lived in San Diego, CA. ever since. Married in 1996 to a Sachem (later Geneseo)graduate (Kathleen Doran), baby girl born on May 16, 2001 (Taylor Nicole); best thing in my life. Currently a Senior Patrol Agent and President of the US Border Patrol Agents union in San Diego.
B.A. in Labor Studies (Industrial Relations) 2000, just completed my Masters- M.A. Legal and Ethical Studies (2005). Set to begin working on my M.P.A. Fall 2006. School
High School was fantastic. In retrospect, we were lucky to have the experiences we did when we did and where we did. Met some great people and even manage to keep in touch with some.

Military
Graduated boot camp and AIT in 1984. Assigned to 9th ID, High Technology Test Bed (Ft. Lewis, WA) from 1984-1986 (HTTB). Assigned to 3rd Armored Division (s-2/s-3 Intelligence and Operations), Gelnahusen West Germany from 1986 -1988. Left Army in 1988, went to Army Reserves and then NY National Guard Until 1992. Best thing I ever did was getting out of the reserves and national guard.
