Joseph's Story
Life
Although I actually graduated from Olean High School in 1979 (I doubled up my junior and senior years), I consider myself a part of the class of 1980. This is the class that I went all through school with, from Mrs. Whitehill's kindergarten in the old school 4, to Mrs. Hoynowski's fourth grade class at the new East View, 7th grade at North Hill, and 8th grade starting at the high school and moving to the "new Thatcher site" Jr. High.
After high school I attended Alfred State, graduating in 1982. I worked odd jobs until 1986 when I started at BOCES Media center, which led to my starting at channel 20 (later known as WONS-TV UPN 25) in Olean where I worked until 2000.

2000. I then entered Concordia Seminary in St. Louis, graduating in May 2004. I am now a pastor in the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod. I served a church in Hazleton, PA for four years. In August of 2008 I accepted a call to a church in Bound Brook, NJ where I served until August 2019. I now serve a church and school in Wellsboro, PA.
In 1983 I got married. We separated in 1989. I was a single father of three for 17 years (although all of the kids are now out of the house). I remarried in 2011 to my current wife. My oldest son, Randy, lives in Arizona, my daughter, Brandi lives in Portville, and my youngest son, Michael, is currently in Portville. Our two youngest children, Alex and Bethany live in New Jersey. We also have twelve grandchildren. (Man, am I getting old!!)
