Josie's Story
I grew up in Pilsen and attended Jirka Elementary, but now it’s called Pilsen Academy. Then I moved to Bridgeport when I was 12, where I went to St. George and that was torn down. And I graduated from Lourdes HS in 86, and Lourdes is gone now too. I find all that a little sad, but time marches on. ntral Florida. Married my husband a year later, and we moved to Detroit, so he could work for General Motors. Then to Seattle, absolutely beautiful, then Phoenix, hot as hell, but my daughter was born there so it will always hold a special place in my heart, and now Ohio where I am happy to be back in the Midwest. I visit my family in Chicago often and even though I haven’t lived in Chicago in 35 years it’s still my hometown.
