Joy's Story

Life Hi everyone from the Class of '83! I hope you all are doing well. It is hard to believe over 36 years have flew by! We are not the kids we were in '83, that's for sure. I'm sure most of us have gone through many changes since then. The good times, the bad times... Such is life. My Life after El Molino: After El Mo, I attended SRJC for a couple years, then Sonoma State & then Empire College in Santa Rosa to become a legal secretary, because I wanted to move to San Francisco and work in the Financial District. In August of 1989, I moved to San Francisco. I worked as a temp at different offices at first, then got a job as a legal secretary downtown, right next to the Pyramid building. I would work full-time during the day and then attended SFSU at night, working on my BA degree. I was just on the job two weeks when the Loma Priet...Expand for more
a earthquake struck. I worked at the law firm for almost 10 yrs. In 1992, I married Michael, whom I had met at the Hacienda Beach on the Russian River years earlier. This June, we celebrated our 27th wedding anniversary. We currently own a home in Noe Valley in San Francisco, and we absolutely love it here. In 2000, we bought a summer house on the Russian River in Hacienda, near the beach where we first met and near my parents' house. It had a swimming pool and boat dock and we have the greatest parties there. It was super cool, although it is a complete money pit. We sold it in March of 2007. We couldn't stay away from the river and in 2012, got a cute, much smaller house in Guerneville. We love it there! About 18 years ago, I got my real estate license and now work full time with my husband as a real estate agent. Life is good.
