Joy's Story
My life has been very full to say the least. It's been a life of service which includes hairdressing (before I was 18 yrs old), taking care of my personal family, 20 years of pastoring, doing crusades in other countries (with my ex), teaching in the Christian School, showing custom homes and back to cleaning toilets again with a 'cleaning business' I started when I saw the inevitableness of the divorce coming (after 32 years of marriage 4 children, 8 grandkids)! You just keep smiling and love life as the full circle comes around.
It's my life passion to know God intimately; that I may 'day by day' learn more about His love as I read His word, pray and practice it. That relationship alone is the catalyst for all my aspirations and though I fall so short of my own expectations it remains the driving force behind all I do.
It's my constant hope and prayer that as I draw closer to Him my perspectives will change and I will be able to communicate much more effectively to those around me just how special, valued, treasured, loved and of utmost importance they are to God.
Working out to exercise my body is an integral part of my life because we are created a tri-part creature and I'm always endeavoring to keep a proper balance body, soul and spirit. For me exercising has served as a 'visual reminder'. I started in it the 90's and from the very onset I began seeing the spiritual parallels.
God took what I could see developing before my eyes through decision, discipline and determination and taught me so much through the visual process about the value of exercising in godliness.
He has used it to put a deeper passion in my heart to exercise for an 'eternal good' as I've recognized that no matter if it's natural or spiritual it takes God to do the 'miracle part' and form the muscle so learning to depend on Christ Jesus has become the most precious and valuable asset of all. ...Expand for more
I know faith is not by sight but I sure thank God he reaches out to us with His great love superseding his own law by gracing our eyes with things in the natural to aid/assist us along the way as a catalyst to press into the things that really have substance, those things not seen but eternal. I'm extremely grateful for that!
My greatest desire in life is so simple and that is to be used of God to touch people and help them begin living the abundant life 'VICTORIOUSLY' so that their lives will be the demonstration of the power of God's love to a lost and dying world.
I've never had a pressing desire to head things up though I have, the only thrill that I had in it was that I was able to touch more lives at one time.
I am now married to Clif, the most wonderful Christian man I've ever known! We've been married for 2½ years now. He's certainly has been the blessing God promised for me as I gave him permission to arrange my marriage (long story too).
I'd known Clif for 20 some years. He and his wife Cindy attended the church I co-pastored, in fact he was a deacon and she was the Associate Pastor's secretary. They had moved to TN. 10 years ago and it had been 5 years since I hadn't seen them last. Cindy, his wife, died of cancer at 47 years old. He called me one day out of the blue after I'd been divorced for 3½ years and we talked for hours and at the end of that conversation he asked me to marry him, who would've thunk :~). I said YES, and what a great decision that has proven to be!
We were married in the church I co-pastored 1½ months later. He arrived in Fl. the day before the wedding (1st time in 5 yrs since we'd even seen each other) and when we said, 'I do' it was our very first kiss. It's quit a wonderful love story!!!
God certainly does restore what the canker worm has eaten!
