Joyce's Story

I have been married to Mel Buckner for 32 years, and have lived in Tulsa for 35 years. I worked in the public relations/marketing field until my last job ended three years ago. When I got tired of the corporate life, I started an herb business which I ran for several years. I love to grow things, and spend most of my time now in the yard keeping things alive, and thinking of new stuff to plant. My son, Jeff, ives in Texas close to where his dad, Bill Long, lives. ail is an assistant principal. I think of high school often, and always with a happy heart. I honestly think of it as one of the happiest times of my life. I was so lucky to have such good memories. I have lots of friends who absolutely hated high school for whatever reason, and I can tell they are envious when I talk about those days with such fondness. I am still a HUGE Sooner fan, and have never adjusted to the Tulsa environment that harbors so many OSU people! I will be at the next reunion whenever it is and look forward to seeing many old (I hate to use the 'o' word!) friends. Boomer Sooner!
