Joyce's Story
After high school I attended Alfred State College on a Cross-Country scholarship. After two years I was recruited by UNCA in North Carolina where I finished my education and remained in NC.
I met my husband Ralph on a blind date 13 years ago and we have been together ever since. After 13 years I can honestly say that I could not have dreamed of a more perfect spouse.....life is good! We do not have any kids however we do have a dog, she is child enough.
We own Quality Stone Company in which we mine and deliver building rock nationally. The company was started 9 years ago and it keeps Ralph very busy.
I am an executive for the largest ROI company in the US. My position primarily concentrates on Business Intelligence, Strategic Planning and Operations. My office is in my home however I spend a majority of my time traveling throughout the country. Although I am very busy I truly love my job and I work with a great group of people.
Ralph and I spend a substantial amount of time traveling, you may bump into us on a cruise ship as that seems to be our favorite form of vacation especially during the ...Expand for more
holiday season.
Even though I do not have children, I take great pride in the eleven nieces and nephews that my siblings have provided for my enjoyment. My attitude is that it is all about the kids....I am the aunt that gives them anything they want so I am quite popular with the kids all the time......not so much with my siblings as I am notorious for giving them candy and then sending them home.
My homelife is very simplistic. I live in a very small town in Western NC which is where my husband was born and raised. Although my career of choice is very fast paced throughout the week, when the weekend comes the country lifestyle comes out in me; jeans and a T-shirt......put the car away and pull out the pick up truck. I love to cook, work in the yard, and as the veggies come in during the summer I begin the process of canning for the winter, especially making home made veggie soup. Ralph and I spend a significant amount of time either playing golf or just sitting on the porch watching the birds and the deer feed out of the feeders, with an adult beverage of course.
As I said earlier, Life is Good.
