joyce's Story
joyce's schools include Terry Parker High School.I now live in Flowery Branch, Ga. I have worked in the medical field for the past 30 years. I worked in radiology for 22 of the 30 years and then I decided to get into medical sales full time since I have off and on worked in it as a second job. I went to work for McKesson Medical and Surgical and really loved it alot. On 4/04/2004,I was in a herrific MVA, which disabled me and made me retire early. I was ejected out the drivers window on the van(yes, I had my seat belt on) and landed across the median of the highway,face down on the pavement, so they told me. Fortunitly, I don't have any memory of it. I feel so very lucky to be alive... I know I have alot of angels around me...I am married to my best friend, my husband. He has been through alot just helping me get back on my feet. We are both retired now and do alot of traveling together and have alot of fun with our 8 grandchildren.
This past June we were going to put our home on the market and down size so a real estate lady came to list our home and after talking with her we decided...Expand for more
to stay where we are for the time being until the market gets alittle better. Mean time I was telling her where we traveled and mentioned that I graduated from Terry Parker in 1962 and had planned on going to our class reunion. She then told us that her mom also graduated from Terry Parker in 1962 and had been notified of the class reunion. When she told me her mom's name was Ann Nickerson Vaughn , I was so surprised because Ann and I were best friends in highschool,especially our senior year and had lunch everyday together. We had not seen each other for the past 49 years and she lives only 2.85 miles from us. Well, we could hardly wait to see each other and now we see each other at lease once a week or more and talk to each other just about every day on the phone....Our class reunion was so much fun. Ann went with us and we saw so many class mates and had a wonderful time....
As for Don and I we will probably do alittle more traveling. Don took a H&R Block school and will do taxes for the next few years and I will enjoy doing alittle volunteer work and enjoy our grandchildren...
