Joyce's Story
Life
Retired from 30+ years of school teaching. Hard to believe I have touched the lives of so many students starting in 1971 for El Paso ISD - Henderson, Bowie, Lamar, Lincoln, and Tech, from physical education and coaching to computers. El Paso was a wonderful place to begin my teaching career. Then in 1991 we moved to Sour Lake, Texas, where I was the technology coordinator for Hardin-Jefferson ISD while teaching there. It was quite a change from El Paso. I taught everything from HJ Today, a daily TV class with 5-7 students on Apple IIg and 2 tape decks to typing, introduction to business, health and U.S. History. Having at least 5 principals in just 6 years made teaching at HJ quite different. In 1997 I had the opportunity to try my skills in sales. r getting to demonstrate an eBook and the first clamshell shaped iBook. I even got to introduce Steve Wozniak at the Texas Computer Education Association conference in 1998. In 2001, it was back to finish up my final three years of my teaching career at Lumberton High School before retirement. It is great now living the liesurely life on the golf course!! No pets, our son is married and we have a "grand dog" named Chandler. Maroon golf carts. We are die-hard Texas Aggie fans!!!!! Basketball is great fun following our Aggies through March Madness. Photography is my new profession. There is so much to learn and so many memories to capture. Why not let me take some portraits of you and your family? We have started a theater group here at Hilltop Lakes, Troupe Over the Hill. It keeps me busy, too. Traveling is something we do as much as possible. We love to cruise. If you get to Texas, why not take time to come play a round of golf, or lets meet up at an Aggie game!! Keep Smilin' and Take Care,
