Joyce's Story
Ok, so here is my story.....
After graduating from West Leyden I foolishly decided to go to work full time instead of going to college.
I should have gone to school because I have always wanted to be a nurse. I am currently trying to figure a way to come up with the money and time to go to school. Anyways, I worked at Midway Mfg.(Bally Midway) in Franklin Park until the massive layoffs hit. I got laid off in early 1985.
The one good thing about working at Midway is that I met my husband. We married in September of 1985. The following year we moved from Bensenville to St. Charles where we live today. I worked for Peppers Waterbeds corporate office for a few years. I then worked for The Gordon Flesch Company until my first daughter, Kaylin, was born in January of 1993. After almost a year, finding it hard to make ends meet, I went to work as a McDonalds cl...Expand for more
osing manager. I chose this job because they would work with my availabilty which was in the evening when my husband could be home with Kaylin. I worked there until my second daughter, Karlee, was born in May of 1993. Once again, after almost a year, I needed to go back to work. I worked as a pharmacy technician for Walmart Pharmacy (in the evenings of course). Once both of my children were in school, I began working the same hours that they were in school. I worked there until May 2006. I am currently working for a small company in Geneva.
I have recently touched base with a few of my old friends from school. It is really nice to hear from them again!
So this is my story, nothing spectacular, nothing amazing, as a matter of fact, nothing even remotely interesting!
Such is life.
If you are reading my story, drop me a line so we can catch up on old times.
