Judy's Story

Life Since graduating from ISU in 1983, I have lived in Colorado, Boston, San Francisco and now Cincinnati. I married in 1985 and divorced in 2004. I married a wonderful man, Wayne, on June 1, 2008. I have two awesome children - a daughter born in 1980 and a son born in 1995. You may remember that I was supposed to be a writer, but I ended up in the financial services industry. I do still write an occasional article for the company newsletter or website, and now manage a procedure documentation group. I get back to Iowa to visit family every couple of years and will be there for July 4th in 2008. School In high school my major activity was journalism. During Senior Year, I was editor of The Dandy Lion, the CLHS page in the Mirror Reporter. C...Expand for more
ollege I attended Iowa State Univ., graduating in 1983 with a degree in Journalism, and a minor in Business Administration. ISU was a great school. Workplace After graduating from ISU in 1983, I moved to Colorado with plans to be a journalist, but that first job offer had disappointing wages. I ended up moving to Boston and got a job with Berkshire Life Insurance administering pension plans for small companies. Six years later I went to John Hancock to work on 401(k) plans. That eventually involved a move to San Francisco to work in a Sales office. In 1994 it was on to Cincinnati and Fidelity Investments where I have continued in the 401(k) business, managing various departments involved in the delivery of retirement plan services to businesses.
