Judy's Story

Life Ok life has been good to me so far. I live and work in New York, New York. And if you knew me back in high school you may remember that New York is just where I wanted to be. My life is full of good stuff what with work and stuff that I do, which include volunteering here and there, for my college and sorority alumni associations, and sometimes for other things. Then I like to go running - I pulled off a marathon a couple of years ago, but now I'm more likely to do shorter runs. And oh I love to use my Yankees season tickets too. So far I can't complain and I couldn't ask for much more either. ;-) School I have lots of happy memories from school. I can't really way which was the silliest or most embarrassing, although I seem to recall Annemarie telling me that the football coach read a letter I wrote to him to an entire class during 11th grade. Of course I wasn't there so I wasn't embarrassed until I heard about it later. There are several other silly memories involving things like mimicking movie moments in class, baking cupcakes, etc. College College was GREAT! I loved pretty much every minute of it. I even currently still do things with my alumni association. That's me, the little joiner. I went to UCLA - the best school ever, in my humble opinion...Expand for more
. I worked on campus at a placed called Campus Corner - several of the friends that I still keep in touch with from college are from that job. I volunteered and worked at the camp that is the official charity of UCLA called UniCamp - several other friends from college are from UniCamp. Then I was also in a sorority, Sigma Kappa. And I keep in touch with the girls from there as well. Ok, a favorite memory here is when I won a trip to Hawaii while watching a game at the Rose Bowl. Now that was a good way to celebrate graduation! Workplace OK Career is a decent topic for me. My first jobs were babysitting while I was a kid, so even before high school. I had a tough time once when picking up my pay I was in a car accident, fortunately nobody was hurt and I wasn't the driver. From there I worked at a series of jobs before even graduating from college at: a Dairy Queen, a hot dog joint at a mall, at a Mervyn's, a Nordstrom, as a TA at San Diego City Schools, at Campus Corner, as a cook at a camp, at a law firm. Then after graduating I went on to another series of jobs at: a law firm, back to SDCS, at Columbia University, NYU (and then grad school), at Barnard College, at iVillage, at Monster.com, and finally with my current company Nelnet. It's all good and I love it.

Sometimes it's snowing out your window and makes you smile. 42nd Sreet looking east just now. The photo does it no justice I can see the shadow of the Chrysler Building through the snow. Living in the postcard.
Beautiful day for baseball. Yankees Opening day 2017. Very nearly perfect! Thank you Pineda.

My heart is heavy today. I have to report that my Dad, Ralph P. Hernandez, passed away. He graced us with his life for 83 years. There is simply too much to say about him. He served as a United States Marine. He was a husba
