Judy's Story

Life Life is a strange journey, but I am so grateful to be here and to have this opportunity to grow and evolve as a spiritual being having a human experience. I spent years exploring in Philadelphia when I went to Temple University there---got my mind blown many times as I learned about city life and life in general. Went on a vision quest of sorts to New Mexico in 1972---a trip that I am still trying to write about. That was the year I began to see life differently, symbolically. However, my experiences in the Land of Enchantment freaked me out a bit and motivated me to ground myself, have children, and start a new process of learning. The magic I experienced in New Mexico frightened me a bit then---but I have come back to it. I went to school again, when I left my marriage, and ended up getting a masters degree in counseling psychology while raising my two daughters. The things I learned about in Jungian Psychology, dreamwork, shamanism, connected deeply to the spiritual approach to life I learned in New Mexico, Key West Florida, and in the study of literature and art history. I became a group counselor for a few years at MH/MR in Bedford, after I spent a few years working at the Office on Aging...Expand for more
----but Menopause and my spiritual quest dropped me into a seven year period of depression which had to be resolved by finding out my true purpose for being here on earth. Part of my healing journey was to spend seventeen months in Massage School in State College, where loved learning about anatomy/physiology and energywork. I also learned that I must exercise or have bodywork of some kind every day, when possible. Since I love to learn----I have to balance out my mental work with physical activity to keep from being ill. I also need to spend time in nature as often as possible. I spent some time teaching social sciences part time at Allegany College of Maryland---but more recently I have been working part time as Mobile therapist with children. Now, because of HMO control of clients I have a couple of writing projects underway. One is an interview with my father about his korean war experiences. My spirituality and my children and grandchildren are high on my list of priorities in life. I am just looking for friends with whom I can connect about life and spiritual experiences. I value nature, life, and true friends and invite folks of similar background and values to contact me. NAMASTE
