Judy's Story
Life
After leaving Morningside High School, i attended El Camino College for 2 1/2 years - was having so much fun i couldn't pull myself away. Then I had a year at Linfield College in Oregon. I was working at Security Bank in downtown Los Angeles when i married my husband, Surj, in 1967.
We moved to Irvine in 1973, and have remained in the same house. We became active in our new community through sports and volunteer efforts. Now Surj and I are both retired and rattle around in our home. Our two
sons are married and live in Menifee and Huntington Beach.
In 1984 I completed my Masters degree and began private practice as a Marriage and Family Therapist. That whole educational and professional experience had a big impact on my family - for better or worse, depending on who you ask.

e family home for 53 years. My weekly visits with my mom kept me in touch with the memories of my youth.
In 2007 I joined a group of alums interested in re-connecting with MHS. Those initial efforts, initiated by Marla Illingworth Schroeder '62, resulted in granting scholarships to Seniors. That fledgling group grew into the Morningside High Monarchs Alumni Association. Visit our website to see what we are about today.
Now I am on campus several times a year and more connected to those high school memories. MHMAA holds an annual 'Alumni Day' on campus in September. Join us, and step back in time.
I look at that skinny Judy Wood in the yearbook and wish I could go back and have a chat with her.
UPDATE: Surj died in March of 2016, and I continue on in our home in Irvine.. My involvement in MHMAA has lessened, but I continue to support the great work of the organization.
