Julee's Story
Life---
I was married to Mark Maggiora ( Monte Vista High School, Watsonville, CA - Class of '81) for 15 years. Sadly, we got divorced. We don't have any kids, but between us we have 4 beautiful nieces and 3 handsome nephews. We are still friends which some find odd. We don't. I bought a house in March 2010 all by myself. Mark was really proud of me. That meant a lot!
Hobbies---
I love astronomy, but it wasn't an option to choose in the Q&A.
School---
·I went to Proctor R. Hug High School in Reno, NV my freshman year. We moved to Gilroy, CA in the summer of '78 and I finished high school at Gilroy High.
·I attended the California Professional School of Fabric Design in Berkeley, CA from 2008-2010. I learned to create designs fabrics and other textiles. The perfect thing for a quilter to learn! I am a "Textile and Surface Pattern Designer" on the side.
Friends---
·My oldest friend is Bonnie Whitaker Self. She and I met in 5th grade and became friends immediately. Our mom's would ...Expand for more
pick us up outside school because we still lived in Reno and our families were both building houses in Lemmon valley. It turned out our houses were right next door to each other!
·I hated moving away from my school and my best friend, Bonnie Whitaker. But I was lucky enough to find another best friend in Diane Manzo. And, I didn't meet her at school, but my other best friend is Pam Robinson from Lawton, OK. My sister, Christine, is also my best friend.
Work---
I work at Gilroy Gardens Family Theme Park. I run the Print/Sign Shop. I print most of the in-house forms and make a fairly good portion of the signs you see inside the Park. I've been there since 2000. Before that I worked 11 years for Nob Hill Foods, also running the Print/Sign Shop.
Random Thoughts---
·If I won $100 million, I'd give some of it to my church, then spend the rest on my sister, my brother and myself.
·To be truly happy, I would be on a secluded beach or a beautiful mountain, with the man I love---just being.
