Julene's Story
Life
* Attended BYU from 1972-75, majoring in Classical Greek. Graduated in 1980.
* Became engaged to Derrin Watson in 1974.
* Served a mission in Chicago, Illinois for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints 1975-6. Derrin served a mission to Tehran, Iran 1975-77.
* Married Derrin Watson 27 July 1977 -- 3 weeks after he got home. Moved to LA. (Derrin is a native "L.A.lien")
* Derrin went to law school; I became a legal secretary.
* Our first child was born in 1978; I quit work to become a full-time mom.

child born in 1982. Both boys. Both now married, one a year ago, one 2 weeks ago.
* Moved to Santa Barbara in 1989. Can't imagine a more glorious place.
* In 1994 I won first prize and $10,000 in Annie's Attic Afghan Design Contest for my "Cathedral Window" afghan -- see my "now" pic.
* Currently, I continue to design and publish afghans and enjoy traveling with Derrin, who does continuing education for pension professionals and stand-up comedy. I get to be "Vanna" to his "Regis" for some of his presentations. We have 5 cats.
