Life
UPDATE:
My girls are all grown up now, the eldest being married for 7 years. No grandkids but the 4-legged kind. I retired from the NPSB in 2011 after teaching 23 years and moved to Colorado where I ended up teaching for another 7 years in the most wonderful school district Ellicott District 22. Mom and Dad have now passed away and I moved back into my childhood home. I'm trying to learn Mom's green thumb habits (not going so well), and figuring out ways to be victorious over the mosquitoes!
I have two daughters, Laura (21) and Katie (18). Laura goes to LA Tech and is majoring in communication design. Katie is a freshman at NSU. I have been teaching for the past 20 years here in Natchitoches, but plan on moving in the near future and change professions. I just transferred to another school and I'm now teaching kindergarten again. Attending the girls' after school activities still, working, and going back to college keep me pretty busy.

re it was nice not having bills to pay or kids to take care of, but it was not the best. I will never forget Mr. Thrasher, our English teacher. He is the one who taught me about photography and how I could escape behind the camera.
Workplace
UPDATE:
Since being back in Natchitoches, I have restarted my home based travel agency, The Travel Cove. I love the flexibility of being able to work from home. If you love to travel, support your small business owners and give me a call!
Unless you want to become a principal or something else, you can't go far in teaching. Through the years I've become the yearbook editor (go figure!), supply coordinator, testing coordinator, technology coordinator, and team leader. I have about six months left until I reach my twenty years in teaching and will be retiring then. I hope to then either get a job in accounting or make my dream come true and open a children's book store. Once my youngest graduates from high school, I'm moving to the Northeast or Mid West region to begin a new career.
