Julia's Story
40 years already? How time flies...
I'm celebrating five years at BioMarin Pharmaceutical Inc., promoted to Senior Coordinator two years ago, and our department moved with several others last year to downtown San Rafael so I'm fortunate to live and work in Marin County. BioMarin develops first-to-market or best-in-class therapies which make big differences in the lives of the small number of patients suffering from serious or rare orphan diseases.
I've lived in Fairfax since 1989, and my current residence since 1993, so Fairfax has been home five years more than Sacramento!
My sister and brother (twins, Class of '66) still live in Sacramento so I visit regularly. Our family has 5 grandchildren and 7 great-grandkids (6 in Israel, and a newborn in Carmichael). Dad passed away in 1979 and Mom in 1981.
The SF Giants are my main passion now. The photo I've posted was taken at this year's "Play Ball Lunch", a lunch benefiting the Jr. Giants organization a few days before the start of the season. Current and past players, coaches, and broadcasters attend and it was a blast! I went to Game 1 of the 2010 World Series and parade, and two post-season games in the 2012 season. Last year I went to 33 games! ...Expand for more
Now my dream is to retire working for the Giants. I figure if my dream came true to work for Bill Graham I can make another one come true!
Oh, I do still love music...just saw the Rolling Stones in Oakland. The rock'n'roll girl in me will never die! I still play guitar and sing.
I stay in touch with a few friends from school and always look forward to reconnecting with classmates at the reunions. See you soon!
Here's my story before the 30th:
Hi everyone! Since our 30th I was office manager for a non-profit selling affordable town houses in Hamilton Field, Novato, and am now Coordinator in the Pharmacological Sciences Dept. of BioMarin (also in Novato). I left my job at Bill Graham Presents (there for 12 years) to be the office manager at Santana Management (for 4 years). Started with the release of "Supernatural" so it was very exciting. My picture is from our after-Grammy party, February 2000 at the Conga Room in LA; what a phenomenal time! I live alone in Fairfax (Marin County), but visit Sacto regularly as my sister and brother still live there. I still play guitar, music remains my main passion, but I also love the SF Giants (and the Sacramento Kings when...)! See you at the next reunion...
