Julie's Story
Life
What can I say? Life is pretty good for the most part, with some hard times here and there. I have a great kid, the people in my life are awesome, and really.... that's what's important.
Check out my chorus, the Melodeers. I can't post a link here but do a search. If you sing, come by for guest night and think about auditioning.
Classmates asks us "Would you do it all over again?" Nah, way too much teen angst back then. Besides, all the good and bad things I've been through (high school and later) have shaped me into who I am...and I like where I'm at right now in my life.
Crushes? Yeah, quite a few, but the biggest crushes in high school were on Doran Rochell, Marc Krulewitch, Steven Jacobson, Tom Mann, John Reder and some guy who worked with me at Ravinia but lived in Glencoe. I forgot his name.... In Jr high it was Andy Synchef. Tommy Zombolo and Peter Vogelsang, but I doubt they knew it as I was very quiet and shy back then. For some reason the fact that I was shy seriously amuses people who met me after college. Can't imagine why.....*grin*
Military
I...Expand for more
don't technically have a military bio, but I was conceived in the Panama Canal Zone at Ft. Clayton. I am an adoptee. My birthparents met at Ft. Clayton. I found my birth-mum, Medra, and family in 1988. I have 2 sisters on that side, and a bro. Then I searched for over 10 years for my birthfather but ran into quite a bit of army red tape.
To those of you I located from his unit (MP Unit 534/Ft. Clayton in the early 1960's) who had pics and stories to share with me when I was trying to locate Reed...thank you so much! And a huge thank you to Tom Hall, who helped as well. It is hard to explain how much it meant to be able to see what he looked like.
In 2001 one of his daughters actually found ME through a genealogy website that I had posted to years back. I'm thankful that I got to meet my birthfather and family before he died (which happend a few months before MY own father died - kind weird to lose 2 dads within a few months of each other). By the time my life puzzle was completed I went from having 1 baby sis to having 5 sisters and a brother. How kewl is that?
