Julie's Story
Life
Hey Jefferson High! Wad'dup from the East Coast! I moved to my parent's home state of Pennsylvania in 1988. I love it here, the changes of season are beautiful. I have been here long enough to have a full on east coast accent :~) Life has been a ride, like for everybody I'm sure. I'm an artist, have worked in therapeutic massage, written and published poetry and had the chance to travel extensively. I just got my first puppy, a beautiful little Bichon Frise we named Keilah Naomi. She's a doll and the love of my life. I'd love to hear from some of you and hear how life has treated you, where you've been and what you've accomplished. Unfortunately, my Dad just passed away last October (2005) due to complications of a long and agonizing battle with diabetes. I miss him terribly but hope to see him again in the future. I myself am fighting an ongoing illness, but I try to keep my head up and look for a little joy in each and every day. I am still one of Jehovah's Witnesses and that keeps me strong and hopeful and gives me a joyful volunteer work to do. I live in a beautiful town about 3 1/2 hours from NYC, so I get the best of both worlds, peace and quiet when I want it and cities all around when I need to get my city on. I miss the Bay Area but not enough to want to move back. I hope all who read this know that I do think about and remember my friends from Jefferson f...Expand for more

School
My biggest crush was Frank Montilliano. That whole issue for me is still, all these years later, one of regret. I loved Mr. Beringer's Spanish class and Ms. Hilmo's English. I love language and the arts in part due to their teaching skills. If I could do it all over again, I sure would change some things!! But, my life was very difficult growing up, and unfortunately it inevitably spilled over into my relationships at school. Otherwise, I would have tried much harder to stay in touch with some of my real friends (You know who you are). One of the craziest things that I remember is cutting school with some (unnamed)friends:~) and cruisin' LA MISSION and getting in a hit and run fender-bender (I wasn't driving!!). Wow was I ever trippin' on that one! The happiest memories I have were all the great laughs with friends, the rallies, singing in the bathrooms (great acoustics) and having a good hair day in spite of the fog. All in all, I'm glad I attended Jefferson High School.
